The benefit of a tank water heater is that you get hot water right away to the faucet you’re using, and there is constant water pressure for all the fixtures using the hot water simultaneously. Once the tank storage is emptied it takes time for the water to refill and heat. With a tankless water heater there maybe a lag time for hot water to heat as it’s traveling through the heating coils, (so you may waste water waiting for the shower to come up to temperature).
